About DIVAS Travel

Albert HammondTravel is no stranger to this mother and daughter diva team. Sherry Hammond Slater-Karim and daughter Veronica Slater have traveled around the world for over 30 years. Albert Hammond, the family patriarch, was one of the first African Americans hired by United Airlines at O'Hare International Airport. Albert started working for United when they opened at what was Old Orchard Field in Chicago, Illinois in 1944. He retired in 1984, with 40 years of service to United Airlines.

Sherry started her career with American Airlines at Chicago O'Hare International Airport and transferred to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in 1988. She retired from her position as a ticket sales agent with 20 years of service in 2005. Veronica has 19 years of service with United Airlines and is currently working on a special assignment from her flight attendant position as a new hire flight attendant training instructor.

The mother and daughter diva team are known by their regular customers for the unique items they bring in the store from their travels. Now they are expanding their dreams and sharing their knowledge and love of travel with others. The new ventures include group travel and on-line travel business opportunities.
